Jad Bernardo, piano
Ryan Dudenbostel holds a degree in clarinet performance from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. While living in New York, he worked regularly as a subsitute player for Lincoln Center's Tony-winning revival of South Pacific, and has appeared in recital at NYU. His recent performances—alongside his wife, soprano Heather Dudenbostel—of Ricky Ian Gordon's dramatic song cycle Orpheus & Euridice for soprano, clarinet, and piano in June, 2011, were listed as Editors Picks in classical music by New York Magazine.
While attending graduate school in Kansas City, Missouri, he performed with the Civic Opera of Kansas City, and played principal clarinet for the Kansas City Puccini Festival. He was also a member of the UMKC Conservatory Wind Symphony. During his undergraduate studies, he served as principal clarinetist in the Western Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra, and appeared as a guest soloist with the latter ensemble in the spring of 2002, performing Aaron Copland's Clarinet Concerto. He has played in the Marrowstone Music Festival Orchestra and the St. Martin's College Chamber Workshop, and was a founding member of the Fünf Wind Quintet. Dudenbostel has performed with baritone John Duykers, and under such conductors as Ted Sperling, Frederick Fennell, and Frank Batisti.
He has studied the clarinet with Jane Carl, Eugene Zoro, Lawrence Bradley, Eugene Stensager, and in masterclass with Anthony Gigliotti.
