Ryan Dudenbostel holds a degree in clarinet performance
from Western Washington University in Bellingham,
Washington. Since relocating to New York, he works
regularly as a subsitute player for Lincoln Center's
Tony-winning revival of South
Pacific, and has appeared in recital at
NYU. While attending graduate school in Kansas City,
Missouri, he performed with the Civic
Opera of Kansas City, and played principal clarinet
for the Kansas
City Puccini Festival's 2007 production of Tosca.
He was also a member of the UMKC Conservatory Wind
Symphony. During his undergraduate studies, he served
as principal clarinetist in the Western Wind Symphony
and Symphony Orchestra, and appeared as a guest
soloist with the latter ensemble in the spring of
2002, performing Aaron Copland's Clarinet Concerto.
He has played in the Marrowstone Music Festival
Orchestra and the St. Martin's College Chamber Workshop,
and was a founding member of the Fünf Wind Quintet.
Dudenbostel has performed with baritone John Duykers,
and under such conductors as Frederick Fennell and
Frank Batisti.
Dudenbostel
has taught at New York's Third
Street Music School Settlement in New York City,
was a woodwind coach for the North Sound Youth Symphony,
and served on the faculty of Burton Music Camp on
Vashon Island, Washington. His private students
have regularly competed at state-level solo/ensemble
competitions.
He
has studied the clarinet with Jane Carl, Eugene
Zoro, Lawrence Bradley, Eugene Stensager, and in
masterclass with Anthony Gigliotti.
