Transcription of Schubert's Der Hirt auf dem Felsen for clarinet, soprano and string quartet.
As an orchestrator, arranger, and copyist, I have prepared music ranging in style from opera to Mariachi, and my work has been performed at Carnegie Hall. I have created custom orchestral reductions of opera scenes for New York's Pacific Encore Performances repertory company—including all the instrumental accompaniments for the company's ongoing film projects—and have prepared music for the Longmont (CO) and Whatcom (WA) Symphony Orchestras, as well as and singers from the Metropolitan Opera. I have also arranged in a variety of genres for the Mother Goose Club children's nursery rhyme website. Singers frequently commission me to create cuts and transpositions of songs for auditions and recitals, as well as large-scale arrangements for theatrical performances. I have worked with forces ranging from solo instruments to full orchestra, am committed to the quality, accuracy, and integrity of my work, and dedicated to creating consistently imaginitive, colorful, and tasteful arrangements.
I am currently at work on a series of transcriptions of opera arias and orchestral songs for piano and six instruments, providing singers the experience of performing these works with instrumental support and color, even when it is not practical to assemble an orchestra. Please contact me for more information on this project.
